Vendors Terms:

Wellington Auctions Sellers Terms and Conditions:

1)       Confirmation of ownership – The vendor confirms that they are the true owner of the property being offered for sale, and that they are not liable to any third party in respect of said goods. The vendor must also confirm that he is willing to accept any liability in respect of this clause being broken.

2)      Reserves – The vendor is free to place prior to auction a figure at which they are not willing to sell for less, this constitutes the reserve. (We are always willing to assist potential vendors in finding the right reserve for their item(s)) Wellington Auctions, shall not change this figure without the express consent of the vendor.

3)      Fees – Wellington Auctions shall deduct any commission at the stated rate given on consignment, and in addition any reasonable fees that have been incurred during the sale. There are no ‘unsold fees’, or ‘photographic fees’.

4)      Returned items – Wellington Auctions is free to rescind any sale in respect of the vendor, if the item is returned by the buyer if the claim is justified.

5)      Payment of sale proceeds. – Cheques will be posted to Vendors 28 days after the close of the auction, except in the case of invoices not being paid, any outstanding invoices will be settled up to a maximum of 60 days at which point, the sale is nullified. If Wellington Auctions shall pay out the vendor on an item which has not been paid for after 60 days, ownership of said item will transfer to Wellington Auctions.

6)      Withdrawn Lots – The vendor shall pay a 20% commission on any lots withdrawn prior to sale, except where additional info on the item has come to light (proof of this required), which makes it prudent to withdraw the lot.

7)      Photographs – Wellington Auctions is free to photograph and use such photographs of any items offered for sale, whether in connection with the auction or not.

Vendors Commission is 10%.  It is possible to negotiate rates, for regular vendors, and collections of high value.
